Embracing it all.

Dan Smith was asked who his favorite author was & he responded with…

I believe that is the reason why I 100% love him. :)

Today we found a little community of about 10-12 apartment structures where needy families lived. We had a team make spaghetti & salad & bread rolls & we packaged them up & drove them to this area. Six of us walked around and gave out hot meals & groceries to these families.
Later this afternoon I sat in my room & felt so spoiled. I asked God why has He chosen to bless me? I don’t deserve any of the things He’s given me. He didn’t answer me but I strongly felt that it is my job to bless others who are in need.

As I have been stressing out & asking The Lord to direct me in taking practical steps in officially moving to Westminster, He has been helping me feel @ peace about the chaos that consumes my mind. I sometimes feel overwhelmed when I think about $$$, or where I’ll live in a few months or if my car will last until I graduate! But there is so much more going on around me than, ME!

All of this to say, My God is the ultimate provider & when I set my eyes, my heart & my will on Him, He will do exactly what He’s been wanting to do for me. And in turn… I promise NO ONE WILL GO WITHOUT around me. I will give just like He has given me & I will love just like He has loved me.

Today was officially DAY ONE. Learning how to let the Lord direct me isn’t as easy as I thought. I feel like I am barely learning how to trust Him, thats why this process is so hard. My life is really not that complicated… So I’m going to stop focusing on all of the wrong things. & I will do this with a happy heart. <3

I saw this random chair while on a bike ride & I had to stop & photograph it. On this day, the weather was perfect. The sun was out but there was a breeze. Here in Orange County we don’t get much of the breeze like I’m used to in Santa Maria. My bike ride was amazing. The wind blowing my hair back & the beautiful sounds of Explosions in the Sky kept a smile on my face while I pondered my day. ONE of the highlights was having the privilege of sitting @ Jesus’ feet that morning. YES, you read correctly. I sat at the Lords feet. & while I sat there I was in awe of Him. He ended up taking me on a journey my heart was half way prepared for. haha & I ran with it! Full speed ahead! :) I am done wasting time. I am done being lazy, tired, sloppy, low energized, & straight up unhappy. This is a season of LOVE for me. & I’m changing EVERYTHING I possibly can!

DAY FIVE.

Sadly I did not take this photo of Selah today but I decided to edit it and post it because I miss her. As one of Selah’s aunts I have major bragging rights. She is so beautiful and smart! There are times where I am feeling terribly homesick and all I need is to hear a funny story about how she can’t climb up stairs without making funny noises. Or how she likes to shake her hand at my twin sister as if she is shooing her away. I love how she is STILL obsessed with water bottles and how she has these tiny little fingers and hands that want to grab and touch everything. Hearing her laugh hysterically is one of the greatest sounds in the world. She is one of the biggest joys in my life.

Without making this into a novel, all I want to say is this… Love the people in your life. Tell them constantly, show them every single day. I don’t care if you have a hard time saying “I love you” to your siblings or parents. It’s not okay to show more love and respect to your friends than to your own family. Do not take anyone for granted. Appreciate every minute someone spends talking to you, helping you, pushing you. Those are the people who stick around.
